Parish Council Chair, Phillipa Simms and Cllr Nigel Sparrow MBE, who chairs the Environment Committee this morning outlined to the Mayor of Bedford. the appalling situation in which our village finds itself with regard to flooding from burst water pipes. Residents and businesses around the junction of the High Street, Milton Road and Oakley Road have been facing a severe flood threat since yesterday morning. Despite the prompt actions of the Parish Council, Anglian Water say they cannot deal with the burst water pipe until Cadent Gas have inspected the gas pipe that runs alongside the water pipe. The road remains closed with diversions in place.
