Bedford Borough Council have advised that further highway works on Paula Radcliffe Way commenced this week under a northbound lane closure, with full closures to follow next week. This is necessary to complete some minor remedial repairs, installing the remaining crash barriers and installing new signs as part of the previous scheme.
The works have been programmed by our contractor Hanson Contracting Ltd and their programme runs from 3rd to 15th June as per the below programme:
- 3rd to 7th June - Northbound Lane 1 closure including all northbound on and off slip roads.
- 10th to 11th June - Full northbound closure including all on and off slip roads.
- 12th to 15th June – Full southbound closure including all on and off slip roads.
These works have been programmed to be completed overnight between 2000 and 0600. Advance signage for the closures has been placed on site and a local diversion route will be in place during the hours of the road closure, depending on where the contractor is working.
